About Me

Hello! Thanks for visiting my website and taking the time to learn more about me!

My name is Abraham Islas, and I was born in Montebello, California, to my amazing parents, Enrique and Teresa Islas. I’m the youngest of three, with my older sister, Fabiola, and my older brother, Enrique Jr. Being the baby of the family definitely has its perks—like always having two built-in role models (and maybe getting away with a little more).

When I was four, my family moved to Cairo, Georgia. I didn’t even realize how far we’d gone until I saw a map in school—I just thought there were more trees! Cairo became home, and I have so many great memories there with my family. Whether it was road trips, weekend cookouts, or just spending time together, family has always been a huge part of my life. Even now, no matter where I go, they’re my biggest supporters.

In 2022, I moved to Columbus, Georgia, to pursue my BFA in Theatre Performance at Columbus State University. But theatre wasn’t always the plan. I grew up playing sports year-round and was preparing for a degree in Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics. I even worked as a migrant tutor for a semester. Then, in my senior year of high school, I took a theatre class as an elective—and everything changed. I fell in love with acting, and even when I was still pursuing education, I couldn’t stop thinking about being on stage. I did community theatre as often as I could at some surrounding cities, like Bainbridge, Thomasville, and Tallahassee. I met some truly amazing people through it at all, another aspect of theatre I deeply enjoy. In 2022, I finally took the leap, and I haven’t looked back since.

While theatre is my biggest passion, I have plenty of other interests! I enjoy building computers (it started as a way to save money, and now I’ve built several), playing story-driven video games, and exploring website creation, marketing, and 3D modeling & printing. In fact, I designed and built this website myself!

Thanks again for stopping by—I hope you enjoy exploring my work!
